Winning is a part of the St. Mary's tradition. While we do not require students to participate in sports, all students are encouraged to do so, and the participation is overwhelming. We believe that athletics is a key component in creating brotherhood and in educating well-rounded students. Traditionally, St. Mary's has a role for both the gifted athlete and the first-time participant. Involvement and a sense of belonging are the keys. Junior varsity and freshmen level teams help to round out a thriving athletic program. As both Athletic Director and Coach, George Porritt has built a reputation as one of the finest educators/coaches in the Catholic League.
