St. Mary's Picked to Finish 3rd in CHSL Central Division
DETROIT--The Detroit News' Fall 2004 Football Coaches' Poll has the Eaglets piced to finish third in the Catholic League Central Division behind Division 1 State Champion Detroit Catholic Central and Division 2 State Runner-Up Birmingham Brother Rice. St. Mary's has five returning starters on offense, three of whom are linemen, led by Senior offensive tackle Mike Tucker (6'2", 270). Senior running back Malcolm Arrington (6'2", 217) ran for 500 yards last season and had six sacks at linebacker. The Eaglets' defense is led by Senior defensive end Chris McLaurin (6'4", 232), the 5th-rated player in the state, one of six returning starters. Senior defensive backs Shawn Windey and Zach Stogdill anchor an experienced secondary.
