OLSM routs Divine Child in Catholic League opener
By Chris Silva of The Free Press
DETROIT-- Each week St. Mary's defensive coordinator Frank Janosz introduces different blitz packages. And the Eaglets have proved to be quick learners.
St. Mary's (4-0) flustered Divine Child quarterback Matt Forystek all afternoon. Forystek completed 14 of 25 passes for 199 yards and a TD, but that couldn't overshadow his mistakes. Forystek tossed three interceptions, lost a fumble and was sacked three times as the Eaglets routed the Falcons 47-6 at Ford Field.
"When we came out of the locker room we just said we were going to go all-out, and that's what happened," said wide receiver Taurian Washington, who opened the second half with a 78-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 26-0 lead. "I didn't think we were going to come out that explosive, but I knew we'd come out playing real hard."
The Eaglets racked up 342 yards of total offense, while holding Divine Child (2-2) to 61 yards rushing.
