OLSM runs through Detroit Jesuit
FERNDALE —Orchard Lake St. Mary's proved to a doubting Detroit Jesuit homecoming crowd that they could run the ball Saturday racking up 355 rushing yards in a 35-7 victory.  Anthony Bowman had 12 carries for 178 yards, including a 91-yard touchdown run for St. Mary's (7-0, 4-0 Catholic League Central). Aaron Gant run for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries for the Eaglets.  Defensively, Dionte Allen had three interceptions for St. Mary's.  Detroit Jesuit is 4-3, 1-3.

The play of the game might have been a goal-line interception by Eaglet senior linebacker Aaron Gant on the first play of the second quarter as the Cubs were threatening to go up by 14 points.  Bowman then went off-tackle for 91 yards as the Eaglets evened the score 7-7 with 11:36 left in the first half.  St. Mary's led at the half 21-7.

The Eaglets added rushing touchdowns by Gant in the third and fourth quarters as the defense completely shut down the Cubs.

St. Mary's hosts No. 1-ranked Birmingham Brother Rice next Saturday, October 15 at 1:00 PM in the season finale to determine the Central Division Champion.
