St. Mary's to open state playoffs at home
  LANSING--The MHSAA Selection Committee announced that the No. 1 ranked Eaglets will open the Division 2 playoffs at home against Walled Lake Central in a Region 3. District 1 matchup.
  The Vikings (5-4) defeated rival Walled Lake Western, 28-16, wrapping up the city championship by forcing three turnovers and turning to its passing game for big plays. Central's running game was Brian Stolla pounding his way for 70 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown. Quarterback Torrey Stimson was 9-of-14 for 137 yards -- 86 of those to Aziz Atiyeh, who made big catches with cornerbacks hanging on him all night.
  Walled Lake Western will play at North Farmington in the other Region 3, District 1 game.
