WARREN -- Warren DeLaSalle's Brian Lewis was almost perfect but didn't have to be as the defense stepped up and led DeLaSalle (7-1) to a 14-7 win over Orchard Lake St. Mary's on Friday night.

Lewis was 15-for-16, including two touchdown passes, but Jimmy Martinez's interception stalled a late St. Mary's drive which could have tied the game late in the fourth quarter.

"Jimmy's interception was huge," DeLaSalle coach Paul Verska said. "They had just scored, and they were driving on us right after that."

Lewis' 11-yard touchdown pass to Shane Torzy broke a 7-7 tie with 10:19 remaining in the fourth quarter and DeLaSalle's defense kept St.Mary's (6-2) in check, holding it to eight first downs.

Tailback Jimmy Berezik had 116 yards on 28 carries for DeLaSalle, who will play Birmingham Brother Rice in the Prep Bowl.
