O & E Top 10 Teams
Below are the Observer & Eccentric area's 2007 preseason Top 10 teams. Last season's records are in parentheses.
1. Birmingham Brother Rice (11-1) - The Warriors are 33-4 during the past three seasons and have the talent and depth to continue that trend.
2. Lake Orion (10-1) - Upset victims in the playoffs last year, the Dragons put up over 40 points a game last season and are loaded once again.
3. Farmington Harrison (11-3) - Division 3 state runner-up last season, the Hawks have better talent and should be a serious threat for another long postseason run.
4. Clarkston (10-2) - The area's largest high school reached the regional finals last season, has the numbers to compete and the offensive talent to contend.
5. Walled Lake Central (9-3) - Reaching the Elite Eight last season left some hungry Vikings sailing back for some more.
6. Rochester Adams (6-4) - There are 16 starters back for the Highlanders, who are ready to make amends for last year's first-round postseason loss.
7. Troy (4-5) - The Colts haven't made the playoffs since '99, but this is an experienced and talented group.
8. Orchard Lake St. Mary's (8-3) - It doesn't matter how much talent the Eaglets lost to graduation, good programs don't rebuild, they reload.
9. Rochester Stoney Creek (8-2) - The Cougars received their first playoff taste last season and the sixth season at Stoney Creek could be even better.
10. Birmingham-Detroit Country Day (8-3) - The Yellowjackets might only be in Division 5, but they have the speed, size and athleticism to compete against some of the big boys.
