Instant Replay: This season starts where last year ended

The 2008 football season begins where the 2007 season ended.
The final game of last season was East Grand Rapids' 46-39 Division 3 state championship victory over Orchard Lake St. Mary's in a record five overtimes.
Come 7 p.m. Thursday, St. Mary's will line up at East Grand Rapids and start all over.
"They called because we were looking for a game," St. Mary's coach George Porritt said. "We started the process even before the playoffs. Then everything got more interesting."
East coach Peter Stuursma had a dazed, wide-eyed look on his face an hour after that championship game, but didn't rush home to watch the tape.
"The first time I watched the film was this past spring," Stuursma said. "It was a game for the ages."
