Series Record: 7-7
Last Game Score: 10-21 (2007 Boys Bowl) Game Recap

Series History: The Eaglets and the Shamrocks split the home-and-home series from 1994-1997, and the Shamrocks won the 1998 Prep Bowl matchup. Since 2000, the two teams have been Central Division rivals, with the Shamrocks winning 3 of the first 4 games.  The Eaglets shutout the Shamrocks 13-0 in 2002, CC's only loss in its State Championship campaign.  Since 2004, the Eaglets have won 4 straight, including the 2006 Prep Bowl wildcard game. The Eaglets played their first Sunday game in years, and their first Boys Bowl game, and lost.

2007 Recap: The Shamrocks went 10-3, 3-2 in league, and lost to eventual Division 1 State Champion Macomb Dakota, 17-7, in Division 1 state semifinal

2008 Preview: The Shamrocks are one of the premier programs in the state, and despite significant roster turnover, they always seem to reload. Catholic Central has one of the area's best linemen in senior DL/OL Khaled Mheisen (6-5, 290), who missed most of last season with a broken ankle. Senior Nick Landry (6-4, 250) will also be an important two-way lineman, while the skill positions should be solid with senior WR/DB Kam Leiter (6-0, 180), senior WR/DB Steve Harding (6-0, 180), junior RB/DB Anthony Capatina (5-8, 170) and junior FB/DT Niko Palazeti (6-4, 220) back. However, only three starters are back on offense and one on defense for the Shamrocks, so plenty of new players are going to have to thrive in expanded roles right away.

2008 Season to date (6-3): The Shamrocks opened the season with a win over Detroit Southwestern, 35-14; had a bye week, then beat London (Ont) St. Thomas Aquinas, 51-0; lost to Brother Rice, 24-27; lost to De La Salle, 7-12; beat OLSM 14-7; beat Pontiac Notre Dame Prep, 42-0; beat Divine Child, 42-7; lost in Prep Bowl to De La Salle, 14-28; beat Novi in Div. 1 playoffs, 15-12.
