Football or basketball? That's the question that had been dogging Kevonte Martin-Manley.

Until now.

"Football is for me," said Martin-Manley, who during his sophomore and junior years at Birmingham Brother Rice couldn't decide which to play in college. "It's what I do best."

Martin-Manley, at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, is a receiver with good hands and the strength to break open-field tackles. He has been offered a football scholarship from Bowling Green, Central Michigan and Toledo, but has yet to make a commitment.

Catholic League

(In coaches' consensus order of finish)

Central Division

1. Warren DeLaSalle: DeLaSalle (13-1) reached the Division 2 final for the second time in three seasons, and this team, with six starters back on both sides, might be better.

2. Detroit Catholic Central: Tom Mach enters his 34th season as coach, and this could be his best team since the 2003 championship team. Six starters return on both sides.

3. Orchard Lake St. Mary's: St. Mary's (4-5) returns five starters on both sides and boasts one of the state's top quarterbacks in Robert Bolden.

4. Birmingham Brother Rice: Al Fracassa enters his 50th season as coach. One lineman returns, but the secondary is experienced, led by S/RB Jimmy Pickens, a three-year starter.

5. U-D Jesuit: With 50 on varsity, a new coach (Jeff Putnam) and some good young players, U-D fans could have something to cheer about after their team won one game in two years.

6. Dearborn Divine Child: Divine Child (4-5) returns eight starters on offense and seven on defense. This could be the best team in coach Jack Masserang's four years.

Intersectional 1

1. Allen Park Cabrini: Cabrini (5-5) looks for its fifth straight postseason spot. QB/CB Mike O'Leary returns.

2. Royal Oak Shrine: Shrine won 11 games for the first time, but will be young. Phil Galloway (RB/LB) is the lone returning starter.

3. Waterford Lakes: Lakes (6-5) has made the playoffs every year since 1997. QB Mike Sullivan returns.

4. Marine City Cardinal Mooney: Coach Lloyd Slabaugh said TE/OLB Joe Broderick (6-4, 225) has great hands.

5. Detroit Urban Lutheran: QB Jonathan Walker, a sophomore, was the backup last year.

Intersectional 2

1. Detroit Loyola: First-year coach John Callahan said he has a lot of talented underclassmen. C Jamal Riddick (6-1, 295) led his team in downfield blocks.

2. Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard: QB Josh Herbeck (6-3, 215) is a three-year starter. K/WR Mike Yocum had three field goals over 47 yards.

3. Madison Heights Bishop Foley: Junior QB/S Brad Schalk takes over, and gets to throw to his twin, WR/CB Jeff. Bishop Foley (6-5) lost in the second round last season.

4. Pontiac Notre Dame Prep: First-year coach Kyle Zimmerman's team must learn the new offensive and defensive schemes.

5. Riverview Gabriel Richard: TB/CB Tate Downing was named team MVP. OT/DT Jake Styla is 6-5, 266.
