Report: O.L. St. Mary's star Dion Sims commits to Michigan State

DETROIT FREE PRESS STAFF REPORTS

ORCHARD LAKE--Orchard Lake St. Mary's tight end Dion Sims has committed to play football for Michigan State in 2009, Rivals.com and Scout.com reported on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound Sims also had offers from Ohio State, Purdue, Tennessee, Iowa, Louisville, Miami and Michigan. Rivals.com ranks him as the No. 7 tight end in the nation.

Sims also hopes to play basketball for MSU.

The Spartans have 19 recruits committed for 2009. Commitments are non-binding until players sign a National Letter of Intent next month.
