2008 Recap: The Polar Bears went 5-4.

2009 Preview:  An independent since the breakup of the Mega Conference, the Parkers open Friday at Lansing Everett, then play at Orchard Lake St. Mary's, at Birmingham Brother Rice, at Birmingham Detroit Country Day, at home against Inkster, at Cincinnati Moeller, at home against River Rouge and finish at Dearborn. The funny thing is that Highland Park coach Cedric Dortch isn't complaining. "It's real difficult for us, but our guys sometimes play down to the competition," he said. "Each week I wanted to challenge them, so we'll see how it goes. They say they're up for the challenge. "We could easily have scheduled some guys we could have beat up on, but that wouldn't have helped us reach our goals as trying to establish ourselves as one of the best programs in the state." (Mick McCabe, Detroit Free Press)

2009 Season to date (6-4) :  The Polar Bears opened the season at Lansing Everett with a victory, 41-6; beat OLSM, 20-13; lost to Birmingham Brother Rice, 13-6; beat Detroit Country Day, 36-3; lost to Inkster, 27-22; lost to Cincinnati (OH) Moeller, 52-18; beat River Rouge, 40-0; beat Flint Powers, 39-7; beat Dearborn, 25-7; lost to Detroit Crockett, 12-0.
