Eaglets and Shamrocks Skate to a Tie

PLYMOUTH--Looking for their second victory against local competition, the St. Mary's Hockey Eaglets rallied from a 2-0 deficit to tie the Redford Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks at Compuware Arena on Saturday night. The Shamrocks scored first on a power play late in the first period, and then scored again on another power play early in the second period. Casey Rose scored with 7:06 left in the second period on an assist from Eric Roman. With 10:59 left in the third period, Krystian Dziubinski scored to tie the game on assists from Todd Davis and Maciej Sulka. The 5-minute overtime period was scoreless. Shane Trexler made 25 saves in goal for the Eaglets. Catholic Central was 2 for 6 in power plays, and St. Mary's was 0 for 1. The Shamrocks outshot the Eaglets 27 to 22.
