Eaglets Outscored by Sailors
ORCHARD LAKE--Playing for the first time in 10 days, the St. Mary's Hockey Eaglets looked like they had to be reintroduced to the game of hockey. The Muskegon Mona Shores Sailors sailed into the St. Mary's Ice Arena on Saturday night and pirated away a victory. The Eaglets allowed four goals in the first period, three of which were unassisted, and the fourth was on a power play. Goalie Shane Trexler gave up 2 goals on the first 5 shots he faced, and was then replaced by sophomore netminder Drew Duff. The two teams exchanged short-handed goals in the second period, with Alex Prough scoring for St. Mary's with an assist from Jeff Petry. In the third period, the Eaglets came within three goals when Patrick Nagorsen scored at 8:09 with an assist from Arthur Kret. The Sailors restored the four-goal lead at 4:12 with an unassisted goal. The Eaglets outshot the Sailors 29-26.
