ORCHARD LAKE--The Farmington Falcons crashed Orchard Lake St. Mary's Ice Eaglets' Senior Night Party by winning, 4-2.

The Eaglets played an ugly first period, getting outshot, 18-9, and allowing two goals.  With 5:34 remaining in the period, Matt Scott scored for the Falcons, with assists from Andy Hall and Chris Schaffer.  Three minutes later, Ethan Range of the Falcons scored off assists from Evan Jones and Ian Ellis.

St. Mary's came out in the second period and dominated play.  Eaglet forward Jordan Kieltyka scored at 7:08 with assists from Billy Balent and Dan Stanisz. In the final minute of the period, an Eaglet defensive lapse led to a goal by Falcon D. J. Vandercook, with assists from Chris Gendron and Colin Costello to take a 3-1 lead.  Fifteen seconds later, Shane Halaas of St. Mary's scored off assists from Billy Balent and Jordan Kieltyka to narrow the lead to 3-2.  The Eaglets outshot the Falcons, 16-8.

It appeared that St. Mary's would tie the game early in the third period, but an untimely penalty put the Eaglets on the penalty and Mike O'Neill of the Falcons scored on the power play at 11:43 with assists from Andy Hall and D. J. Vandercook to restore the two-goal lead.

The balance of the period saw the Falcons' defensive pressure stymie any Eaglet scoring threat.  The Eaglets pulled goalie Devon Carr with 53 seconds left, and even with a late Falcon penalty for a 6-on-4 advantage, the Eaglets could not put the puck past Falcon goalie Chris Newton, who finished with 30 saves.

St. Mary's split the goaltending duties between senior Ryan Morley-Stockton (19 saves) and senior Devon Carr (14 saves).

The Eaglets begin the playoffs on Monday night against Bloomfield United at 8:00 pm.
