St. Mary's advances to regional final

ORCHARD LAKE--Orchard Lake St. Mary's advanced to the Division 1 regional final with a 6-3 victory over Birmingham United on Wednesday night.

Tim Hooker led the Eaglets (11-13-2) to the win with two goals and two assists.  Billy Balent had two goals and Aaron Schneider also added a goal and a pair of assists.

Chris Sullivan had 15 saves for the Eaglets.

Travis Stoggin, Bennett Thompson and Kyle Papke each scored a goal for Birmingham Unified (3-15-6), while Zach Silver had 33 saves in goal.

St. Mary's will play the winner of the Northville-Farmington United game in the regional final on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Compuware Arena.
