PLYMOUTH--Despite trailing, 2-1, with less than 20 seconds left in the third period, Orchard Lake St. Mary's escaped with a 3-2 overtime victory against Northville on Saturday.

The Eaglets clinched a Division 1 regional title at Compuware Arena in Plymouth Township.

Matt Uhrin sent the game into overtime when he scored on a pass from Billy Balent with 16.7 seconds left in the third period.

In overtime, on a two-on-one break, Balent found Thaddeus McConkey, who scored the game-winner.

"We dug ourselves in a hole when we went down, 2-0," Balent said. "We had to fight back. It was win-or-go-home."

Matthew Kreager and Matthew Dembicki scored for Northville (22-4-1) in the first period.

Tim Hooker put one in for St. Mary's in the second. And goalie Ryan Morley-Stockton, who played in relief, earned the win, making 15 saves and allowing no goals.

St. Mary's (15-10-2) advances to the quarterfinals Wednesday at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.
