Eaglets dominate Warriors

ORCHARD LAKE--Orchard Lake St. Mary's dominated Birmingham Brother Rice, 6-2, in boys hockey action on Tuesday night.

Nick Czinder had one goal and two assists and Mike Szmatula added one goal and one assist for St. Mary's (12-4-1).

John Elliott and Peter Ryan each scored a goal for Brother Rice.

The Eaglets led 3-2 after the first period, 5-2 after two periods, and scored the final goal with 20 seconds left in the game.

St. Mary's goalkeeper Max Oslund at 20 saves, and Rice goalkeeper PJ Bridges at 18.

St. Mary's hosts Pittsburgh's Shadyside Academy in a weekend series Saturday night at 8 pm and Sunday morning at 10:30 am.
