BLOOMFIELD HILLS -- In their opening game of the Cranbrook Thanksgiving Tournament, St. Mary's beat the Grosse Pointe Norseman 3-1 at Wallace Ice Arena.
Luke Rodgers netted the first goal with 4 minutes left in the first period, assisted by Steven Zorc and Matt Sweet). The Norseman responded in the second period with a goal by Joe Aluia with assists by Jack Stander and Joe Giordano.
St. Mary's winning goal came with 6 and half minutes left in the third period when Cody Milan assisted to keep the puck in the zone and Shane Bednard fed the puck to Mitch Vanderburg for the score. An empty net goal from Trevor Bardallis and assisted by David Muth completed the game.
St. Mary's Joe Janiga held the Norseman to one goal while Chip Wujek played a strong game for Grosse Pointe North.
