St. Mary's beats Catholic Central in season opener

PLYMOUTH--Orchard Lake St. Mary's defeated defending MHSAA Division 1 Champion Novi Detroit Catholic Central, 3-2, in boys hockey action on Saturday night.

Freshman Cody Milan led the Eaglets to with two goals, opening the scoring in the first period with an unassisted, shorthanded breakaway goal. Milan also scored a power play goal in the second period with assists from Shane Bednard and Connor Lyons. Trevor Bardallis also scored with Alex Fasan assisting.

St. Mary's travels to Port Huron to play the Port Huron Northern Huskies on Tuesday night.
