St. Mary's wins sixth consecutive regional title

ORCHARD LAKE -- Orchard Lake St. Mary's rallied from a 2-1 deficit by scoring two goals in the third period to beat Rochester United, 3-2, in the MHSAA Division 1 Regional Final on Saturday night. The win was St. Mary's sixth consecutive regional title.

Dan Milan had two goals and Zak Thompson one, leading St. Mary's (20-5-2). Jon Kello added three assists for the Eaglets.

George Holt and Dan Ryan scored for Rochester.

St. Mary's meets Detroit Jesuit in the Division 1 quarterfinal on Wednesday at 7 pm at St. Clair Shores Civic Arena. The Eaglets beat the Cubs, 3-2, a month ago, and are unbeaten in their last 13 games..
