BOYS LACROSSE PREVIEW

Coach: Greg Normand, first year.
League: Catholic League.
State playoffs: Division 2.
Last season: 3-13.
Key players: Junior M Scott Koenigsknecht, sophomore A Ian Brambs, GK Warren Christen, D Patrick Buckley, junior M Kevin DiSalle.
Outlook: Normand, the man who started the lacrosse program in Waterford and the head coach at CMU, is going to try to build a high-octane team. "We are going to be built around speed and pressure defense, which is unusual for high school," he said. "It's usually seen in college. I think we're an athletic team, which is a hallmark of St. Mary's athletics. We're building this program for the long haul." He has five seniors, eight juniors, 11 sophomores and two freshmen on varsity.
