St. Mary's trounces Farmington


FARMINGTON--A slow start by Orchard Lake St. Mary's did not prevent the Eaglets from winning their 11th game of the season on Thursday night. The win exceeded the Eaglets' 2008 win total.

The Farmington Falcons played St. Mary's even for the most of the first period only to be down 4-3 entering the second. St. Mary's outscored Farmington in the second, 8-3, to lead at halftime, 12-6.

The Eaglets ran the score to 16-7 at the end of three, and won going away, 19-8. Coach Greg Normand played the reserves most of the final period.

Ian Brambs led St. Mary's with five goals and five assists, followed by Scott Koenigsknecht with four goals and three assists. Tom Pellerito had three goals and an assist, Drake Chwalibog had two goals and two assists. Also scoring for St. Mary's were Alex Houck (1), Drew Schupbach (1), Taylor Docking (1), James Maher (1), Doug Boyd (1 goal and 1 assist). Josh Abbott also had an assist, in addition to a great night in faceoffs. The Eaglets peppered the Falcon goalie with 46 shots.

Tim Rogers had two goals, Mike Garner two goals and an assist, Kraig Andrews a goal and two assists, and Mitch Hall a goal and four assists for Farmington. Aaron Buckley and Christ Winkler each had a goal for the Falcons.
