Detroit Catholic Central lacrosse downs Orchard Lake St. Mary's
NOVI -- Novi Detroit Catholic Central beat Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 2 boys lacrosse runner-up Orchard Lake St. Mary's 7-3 on Monday, April 26.
The Shamrocks improved to 9-1 on the season. St. Mary's fell to 3-5.
Kevin Bush had three goals, Mitch Burgin had a goal and an assist and Jeff Janer had a goal and an assist for Catholic Central.
Brendan Austin, Nick Wernette and Drew Schupbach scored for St. Mary's.
Head Coach Dave Wilson's Shamrocks feature 22 juniors and seven seniors. They finished the 2009 campaign at 11-11, but made a strong playoff push before falling to eventual Division 1 champ Birmingham Brother Rice in the semifinals.
Up next for Catholic Central is a Wednesday, April 28 home game against Warren De La Salle.
