St. Mary's crew squad fourth at regionals
The West Bloomfield Eccentric
A strong showing at the U.S. Regionals in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 11-12 landed the Orchard Lake St. Mary's crew team an overall fourth place finish out of 51 teams. The junior four and the junior eight boats won their events, qualifying them to represent the Midwest at last weekend's Nationals in Camden, N.J.
The junior eight placed 10th and the junior four finished less than a second out of the medals with a fourth.
“Not all we might have liked, but a fair job, and on the whole a good trip,” said Eaglets head coach John Ray. “We did the right thing to go.”
Ray and his team will travel to St. Catherine's, Ontario for the international championship School Boy Regatta Friday through Sunday.
