Support Groups
| ST. MARY'S MEN'S CLUB |
What is the Men's Club?
To bring together a group of men who will continue to support, mentor, enhance, promote or otherwise support in any way, the institution of this school now, and in the future.
This group of committed men will support, on a volunteer basis, any and all things needed by other St.Mary's committees or groups. We are here to serve! We will be a group of committed men who will provide services for the betterment of our young men and the great institution of St.Mary's.
Our committed men will meet once a month in the banquet facility for meetings, food, drink and purpose. We are committed to bring camaraderie among our Men's Club and encourage those who have sons, nephews, grandsons, brothers, or a bloodline to any student, past or present, to join in a continued endeavor to promote and serve our great school.
How does this differ from any other committee or group?
We are not here to replace any other committee or to “step on any toes”. We are here to support the others as needed. Example: Mr. Rychicik should be able to call upon any number of men at any time to provide security at any event. Our men will have signed up for a purpose or vocation they wish to fill for the Men's Club. We may have other men who wish to mentor a student academically. We may have men who wish to be a part of a maintenance group. We may have men who wish to be part of a grounds beautification group. And the list goes on. Our men will be able to choose from a list of needs, as well as provide other ideas that will enhance, support, or serve any of the identifiable needs of our school.
Who are we looking for?
Other than the already required membership criteria, i.e., bloodline, our men must be committed to fellowship, loyalty, trust, friendship, working as a team, and serve every month at functions as needed, or provide services as needed, either by their choice or at the behest of an appointed leader.
What's the difference between this and the Mom's & Dad's Club?
You do not have to be a dad to be a member of the Men's Club. Again, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, and so forth,
How does this differ from other schools Dad's Club?
Not knowing what other Dad's Clubs do, it really doesn't matter. We are not in competition with other schools Dad's Clubs. We will do what we think is best, with the direction given by the appropriate people and those tasks voted or agreed upon by our own club. We will blaze our own trail so to speak.
Monthly Dues
We will set, initially, monthly dues of $10 - $15. This will cover the cost of the food and drink we will enjoy at out meetings. Any overage will be put into an account to be used for a purpose in the future as agreed to by the Men's Club.
Of course, our dues may be subject to change based upon factors yet to be determined or identified. We will not ask for funding from any of the other committees within St.Mary's.
Special Apparel
The Men's Club will have its own jackets and so forth identifying our group. I have already begun work on this and will be providing some examples soon.
